The Craft Behind the Keepsake

Behind the Scenes: The Resin Process – How We Turn Your Wedding Flowers Into Forever Keepsakes
When the music fades and the last dance ends, your bouquet holds the beauty and emotion of your big day. At Beyond Time Florals, we help you hold on to that moment—literally—by preserving your real flowers in resin. But what actually goes into that process? Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes of our flower preservation studio so you can see exactly how your wedding bouquet becomes a timeless resin keepsake.

Step 1: Flower Arrival & Preparation
As soon as your flowers arrive, timing is everything. Whether you ship your bouquet or drop it off locally, we start by carefully inspecting each bloom to assess their condition.  We remove any petals or stems that won’t preserve well and prepare each bloom for drying. Each flower is placed in an airtight container with silica gel to preserve it’s shape and color as much as possible. Drying takes about a month, and it’s the most important part of the entire process—because perfectly preserved flowers make the most beautiful resin art.

Step 2: Design Planning
Once the flowers are dry, we start planning your design. We reach out with layout options and design approval because each piece is custom. Want your resin block to highlight your wedding colors or bouquet shape? This is when we make those creative decisions together. Each flower is arranged by hand, and nothing is permanent until you're completely happy with the design.

Step 3: Layered Resin Pouring
This is where the magic happens—and where patience is key. We pour resin in thin layers to avoid bubbles, discoloration, or damage to the flowers. Each layer must cure for at least 24 hours before the next is poured. A single block may take up to a week or more to fully cast. This slow, careful process protects the delicate petals and ensures crystal-clear clarity in the finished piece. We use high-quality, UV-resistant resin to minimize yellowing over time—because your memories should last forever.

Step 4: Demolding & Top Coat
Once the final pour is fully cured, we demold your piece and assess it for any imperfections. Minor flaws are smoothed and polished by hand. We then apply a top coat that gives your piece a flawless finish and helps protect it from scratches, fingerprints, and everyday wear.

Step 5: Finishing Touches & Packaging
Your keepsake is almost ready! We gently clean and inspect every inch before packaging your piece with care. We include care instructions and any additional pieces you’ve ordered (like matching ornaments or add-ons), all packed securely for safe delivery or pick-up. This is the moment you finally see your bouquet again—transformed into a lasting work of art.

Why It Matters
Each preserved piece is more than just a block of resin—it’s a story. Your flowers represent a once-in-a-lifetime day, and we take that responsibility seriously. That’s why we treat each step of the resin process with care, artistry, and attention to detail. Whether you’re preserving your wedding bouquet, a memorial arrangement, or a gift from someone special, we’re honored to preserve your most meaningful blooms—beautifully and forever.
